Endocrinology

The Endocrinology Laboratory is a unit of the Animal Health Diagnostic Center. The lab offers diagnostic endocrinology services for veterinarians and scientists to improve the health of companion, food and fiber-producing, sporting, wildlife, zoo, and laboratory animals. A broad range of endocrine tests are done using three validated immunoassay technologies (radioimmunoassay, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, chemiluminescent immunoassay). In addition, the lab supports researchers at Cornell and universities throughout the world. This immunoassay service and expertise is used by toxicological and other contract testing laboratories and the pharmaceutical industry. The laboratory follows GLP regulations to maintain the quality and integrity of laboratory results and to improve service to our clients. Our staff also provides education and consultation to veterinarians, researchers, and students. The lab is a self-sufficient service and research unit within the College of Veterinary Medicine, deriving financial support from testing fees, contracts, and research grants.
