Adding on Tests

| Since we keep all submitted samples for 5 working days, tests can
be added to samples that have already been submitted to the laboratory.
These tests can only be added if there is sufficient sample left to
perform the test. Therefore, it is in your best interest to make sure
you collect as much blood or urine as possible for clinical pathologic
testing. To add on a test, please call the laboratory. You will need
to tell us the patient number, the owner name, species, the date the
sample was submitted to the laboratory and the test you want to add
on. We will then locate the sample and add on the test, if sample
volume is sufficient. Please do not inundate the laboratory with add-on
tests at the end of the day. This is our busiest period and it is
very time-consuming to locate the samples and paperwork. It would
be better left until the next day.
