| Clinical Pathology Laboratory |
| |
|
|
| Clinical Pathology involves the laboratory evaluation of blood,
fluids or body tissues in the living animal in order to identify underlying
disease by changes in analytes or cytologic characteristics of these
samples. It encompasses hematology, chemistry, cytology, immunology,
and urinalysis.
The Clinical Pathology Laboratory at Cornell University is part
of the New York State Animal Health Diagnostic Center and the Department of
Population Medicine and Diagnostic Science. We receive samples for
testing from researchers and veterinarians throughout New York State
and the USA (even as far as Bermuda) through the Diagnostic Laboratory.
We also provide diagnostic or testing service for the Cornell University
Hospital for Animals and researchers affiliated with Cornell University.
Although endocrinology is traditionally considered part of Clinical
Pathology, endocrinology testing is not performed by our laboratory,
but is performed by the Endocrinology section of the Diagnostic
Laboratory.

Location |
 |
| Currently, we are located in the south wing of the first floor of
Schurman Hall. To get to us from the Cornell University Hospital for
Animals, walk past the library and down the stairs to the Atrium.
From there, turn right down the corridor that goes to James Law Auditorium.
Keep walking along this corridor until you come to the very end of
it (a T-junction). Turn left, and there we are!! |
