Referrals


The Animal Health Diagnostic Center will automatically refer any sample for tests requested but not performed by our laboratory to another laboratory for testing and will monitor the progress of test results for you. The destination will vary according to factors such as availability, reliability, cost, and turn-around time for results. More specific information can be obtained by calling our Referral Department at (607) 253-3961.


Handling fees for referrals:
For samples being referred to labs outside the local Ithaca, NY community, the handling fee is $15.00 per referral destination. For referrals to other departments at Cornell University or within the Ithaca area, the handling fee is $5.00 per destination. These referral fees are included in the test charges listed in the Test & Fee Schedule.
